Groovy Planet

Brooklyn’s David Drucker returns as Painted Faces, following up his 2009-2013 “primer” for Gulcher Records and falling somewhere close to “Schmendricks” for the great Already Dead Tapes.Drucker’s music is outsider psych at it’s most fucked-up, as reflected in David Pretto’s bang-on weird artwork. Evoking oddballs like Daniel Johnston, Wesley Willis and even Jandek, Drucker shambles from one crazy sound to the next, his haunted quiver of a voice barely able to penetrate the narcotic fog.
